I feel that Nobuo and Shimomura are both permanently tied to their respective games, Final Fantasy and Street Fighter, and while Nobuo has worked on some other stuff (including stuff outside games), Shimomura was able to create the quintessential American Anthem on a single game, never to work with the series ever again.
