Tinder is dying. However Bumble, Hinge, and many other dating apps are more alive than ever. 1st Quarter 2024 reports show that Bumble's earnings have increased 11%, while Hinge grew 30% in a year. Compared to the small 9% loss for Tinder.

Meaning dating apps have more users than ever. Dating apps won't be going away anytime soon because we have Gen Z, and Gen Alpha who live through their electronic devices. Plus the growing number of lonely older people who [still] think dating is the solution to their problems. It's not a dating app problem, it's a human defect.

3.) Only find bots and scammers from India and the Philippines stealing photos of Mr. Right from social media
4.) Adjust filter so you find real people within your area
5.) It's just ugly promiscuous people looking for one night stands
6.) Delete app

Social media is mostly dead.
The over moderation that happened lock step on every website + the systematic killing off of small competitors = death of people communicating online

no one just has fun anymore. everyone takes this ♥♥♥♥ too seriously. Say anything that upsets some idiot mod, catch a ban. Mods don't like you but can't figure out the rules? They will apply a ban anyway without reason and never explain themselves.

Dating apps were NEVER good. Even when it was something that was looked down one and you gave a shot to see what was up and met a person or two who were cool, it was still ♥♥♥♥.
when you turn yourself into a comodity don't be surprised you get treated like an object.

My brother and his friends use them with a lot of success. They just use the free ones too. It seems like people here are insanely detached from reality on so many levels, so it doesn't really come as a surprise at this point though.

The apps themselves are scams for young men. Why would someone pay for a service that has scammers/bots on them plus encourages gambling? There's even a class-action lawsuit filed against the apps now.
