Instagram followers, its ridiculous.

Basically, I started to become a food and travel blogger. I upload really nice photos and clips of food I cook, experience and places I visit, real nice stuff, good to look at.

Despite me boosting (advertising) numerous images and having apparently reached over 5000 accounts, I only havr 24 followers.

Then I look at my wife's profile, who only uploaded like 5 photos, of herself randomly sitting somewhere or moving here hands or what not, and she got over 1000 followers in just a few days, numerous comments and likes.

Can someone exploain to me what the hell is going on ?
Its hard for me to express myself here, without saying insulting things about the community on Instagram.


So we are just gonna ignore the artist who puts sweat and focus into his arts and focus on the chick that uploads some average photos of herself ?


Now here comes the weirdest part. I would get it if her followers would all be some hungry simps, but this isn't even the case !! Its mostly other girls that post the same " trash " as herself.


Can someone help me out here and educate me ? I think I am too much of a boomer to understand this.

I don't get it either. I always have to think about this video fo " Bella Poarch " or whatever her name is, in this one video where she just re-sings 5 seconds of some song looking into the camera like some 12 yrs old girl. I don't get why this gets so much attention.

But when I do a fast cut cooking video of some home made spaghetti, my own recipe, home made sauce and such, I get 2 likes at best.

You’re probably making what is relatively boring content in a niche that’s already over saturated. YouTube and other platforms are full to the brim of people doing exactly what you do, probably in a more exciting way.

I’m not saying it’s akin to porn what your wife is doing but the rationale I can provide is that even free porn makes money. Men like looking at pretty women a lot more than everyone likes to look at some random dudes opinion on food and places.

I'm not sure how long it takes for your kind of content to reach popularity but I followed this one young lady who was traveling around the country, cooking farm-to-table and visiting farmer's gardens and in over two years she's got less than 1k followers. She's even put shots in of her wading in lakes in a bikini. So it's not "that," if you're thinking it.

Maybe your content is a bit too niche to grab the popular ooh-i-just-see-selfies! crowd. That's what's it now, I guess.

I thought about this too but then I saw that food bloggers are very popular on Insta, TikTok and YT.

So I am not sure if its really " too niche ". I am sure if I would cook lookining like jason statham I would get tons of views lmao.

90% of Insta vids and pics are about people 60% exposing themselves.
