What exactly is it that makes me "woke"? I genuinely don't understand. I mean, the term is thrown around so much and slapped onto everything certain people don't like, I just can't wrap my head around it.
"Woke is not a thing" is what the woke say. It serves them because they are trying to claim that their stuff is "not political". They want to pretend that all of their standpoints are NORMAL and there's something wrong with the people who are against it.
I know what a nonpartisan looks like, and you are not it. A nonpartisan standpoint would sound something like: "These people say this, and those people say that".
That's your opinion. It doesn't make you correct. "Woke" means literally nothing where I live. And people I am friends with DON'T partake in the culture war. Like I said, I find the culture war ridiculous, overblown and pointless. I don't know which games are "woke" and why. Care to point out a woke game, preferably from my library and explain why it's woke? Assuming you can find one?
"That's your opinion" is never a good thing to say. I don't even know what you are referring to. And yes I can point out lots of games which are woke and tell you why I think they are.
That your friends and your neighborhood don't partake means nothing. You are not in your neighborhood here. What are you even trying to say? Your neighborhood should set the example for the whole world? This makes no sense at all. What this comes down to is, you dismiss something which you don't understand instead of trying to understand it.
This is an internet forum, not a meat-space location. As long as I am not breaking the code of conduct, I don't see anything wrong with the way I carry myself. And it's not me who's disparaging and slandering people by calling them "woke" or worse. I just want to live and let live.
What kind of answer is that? You ignored literally everything I said, because you somehow feel attacked or something and now you are defending yourself. This is not about you. It is about how you think.
I don't feel attacked but I feel like your attitude is hostile. You are also not answering my questions. I asked you if you could name a woke game (preferably from my library). You ignored my question.
So, if it means "to be aware of injustice in society", how did some people manage to turn it into a derogatory term? Could anybody tell me what's bad about trying to be a decent human being to others regardless of their nationality, skin colour or sex(uality)?
My attitude is not "hostile". If I think your way of thinking does not make sense, and I indeed think that, then I will try to make that clear to you. If you can't handle that, then you should not engage in discussions.
You should also not expect me to answer to all of your requests immediately. I parked that question because it will take the discussion into a different direction.
That's fair. Though I would appreciate if you didn't just put labels on me and push me into moulds without knowing me.
You tell me things, I respond to those things. I get to know you by the things you say. I am not someone who likes to assume a lot. However, funnily enough, the woke are very stereotypical and easy to profile. Everyone gets a chance to show to me that they are not like that. But so far it has always checked out.
