Good free to play MMOs?
Keeping in mind that I have never played one. :)

Huge time waster, full of micro scams. It's pretty fun if you like the lotr books and movies cause it's about reading, not about the quests or doing anything meaningful.

WoW will never be free.... so I would suggest...

League of Legends is my go to massive multiplayer online game, but if you mean MMORPGs... I'd give a Ultima Online freeshard a chance. Not the official ones.

It's one of the oldest MMOs, if not the oldest if you don't included old MUDs.

I think a lot of people who enjoyed things like Stardew Valley would enjoy it, but getting a house can be troublesome.

If you did manage to go from free to paid, the Official Shards have plenty of housing space on all but the single busy shard.

LoL is a moba. Moba's basically take the player vs player out of MMO's and put in an 15-60 min game of pain.

Free to play usually means an unreasonable amount of grinding or spending an obscene amount of money. IMO there's no such thing as a good free to play rpg (mmo or otherwise).

They seem very intimidating.

Almost looking for something for kids / kids at heart.

Star Wars The Old Republic is probably one of the best as far as free goes.
Dungeons & Dragons Online is okay, really dated.
I think even Guild Wars 2 is free to play, and it has a hugely loyal fanbase, was okay imo.

I appreciate it.

If you trust an open edit platform that took from a bunch of gaming journalists instead of taking the word of someone who has played all the silly games....a "gamer".
