My government lies all the time. But two instances were obvious lies:

• Jan. 26, 1998: Former President Bill Clinton lies to the entire world by saying he never had relations with a White House employee named Monica Lewinsky. Later that night he admitted on national television they're in a secret relationship (which lasted almost 2 years).

• April 27, 2021: President Joe Biden tells the entire nation fully vaccinated people no longer need to wear masks. Welp, that wasn't true neither.

I mean I'm not sure who exactly hired them to start with because even implying Russia is insane enough to go after an US owned Oil field which they should of known to also be under defense of everything the US has near it was going to happen.

Like I'm not a big fan of the US's whole "Show of force" thing personally but the fact I know its a thing altogether and somehow Russia who..honestly has interacted with the US the most didn't see it coming would be like claiming the US had no idea that Pearl Harbor was going to be attacked.

Thing is, the US did know it was going to be, however what messed them up was the day and hour of the attack lining up to perfectly with an incoming supply lift from the US mainland and the planes in formate looked like the incoming cargo planes so the radar crew, who did detect them, just thought it was the cargo planes but before Japan even did the attack, their admiral literally told the government themselves how stupid and ignorant the attack was in a speech where he even noted that unless they took the white house, the US would never be stopped.

So the fact a single Japanese admiral before attacking the US, knew that hell was going to happen and somehow Russia didn't can indeed imply Russia had nothing to do it, hell I do somewhat expect that they only asked the US to stop attacking as Wanger are respectfully their people which ya, makes sense.

Either way, I guess it would still be a lie on the part of who to blame.

Huh, interesting. Reminds me of the American Blackwater company who I think are now just called Academi when it was bought out by Triple Canopy sounds like a normal company till you learn its the United States PMC division. Like how many actually even know that the US has an official PMC? Likely very few because in of itself, Triple Canopy in of itself is not publically classify itself as a PMC, it classifies itself as a private security firm which is correct. Triple Canopy is a privacy security firm who you can hire guards from, however it still has the subdivision of Academi who is a legal PMC in the United States.

Thing is, you don't hear much about, or frankly, anything about them as they are not officially recognized by the United States, much like how Wanger is not...well was not...classified as officially as a Russian.

I only recently learned for example the two soldiers Trump pardoned a few years back that made a big uproar right? Were not soldiers to begin with, they were PMC soldiers of Academi which now made sense why there was an uproar over it the whole ordeal as apparently while the US has not outlawed them, they forbid them for doing any global operations which if they ignore that, they get into massive legal troubles..

I can always learn new things every day, I never knew Blackwaters origin beyond what I saw on wikipedia and frankly I know, don't trust that site, I literally only learned of them altogether when I was looking at the GTA5 wiki and saw Merryweather is based off them, just far more radical in the game itself.

Say what ya will but I didn't know they existed till that point and honestly looking up some information like this I feel is best left alone, personally at least, I get way into things and can end up hyperfocused on stuff so I only know some information of Blackwater but reading more about them like this always makes my day.

Pretty sure their meger with Veritas is what resulted in Academi, and Veritas makes Merryweather look like kids in shortpants that don't know how to break legs correctly.

Iirc Veritas was a smaller independent merecenary unit formed to support South African apartheid shortly before it fell apart, and were selected specifically for their willingness to brutalize random people.

England hired them a little here and there for warlord work, but they just couldn't keep it in their pants most of the time. I think they were involved in the human bulldozer incident in Iraq, and got merged with Blackwater specifically because Blackwater absorbed the blame for that incident.

There are certain individuals relatively famous in the Brazillian mercenary scene associated with Blackwater, and there are aspects of English interest with vested interests in discrediting those individuals as well as anyone they've worked with. The existence of 0-casualty police forces and mercenary groups makes all of their high-casualty endorsements look pretty bad, so...
