Who here has played WipEout?
Back in the 90s and 2000s there was a game called WipEout. It's an anti gravity combat racing game, and is my favorite series of all time. I know I already asked this question before, but that was a long time ago so I'm going to ask again. Has anyone heard of or played WipEout? If so, which games? I personally played HD Fury on the PS3, and I still play the Omega Collection on the PS5 to this day.

Was wipeout the race game? With futureistic jet sleds? I remember something that like it was fast paced and pretty fun, like they slide down a tube which you dodged stuff.

If so I remember it and it was a lot of fun, the music was also pretty lit. I think I still have a copy of it on cd rom

I have the Omega Collection and you're making me want to install it again. ;)

Yeah WipEout was that game.
Yes, I was terrible at it

It's always worth it to beat Omega again. It's my second most played game behind Minecraft on my ps5
It was one of the games I got free when they had the long outage for the PS3.

Practice will make perfect. If you own a PlayStation 4 or 5, I recommend getting the Omega Collection. Watch some skilled players like CryisTM and Solarextic and watch where they side shift, barrel roll, and use turbos. It's what I did and it worked. Ofc only do this if you care about the game and want to get good, there's no point wasting your money and time practicing with a game you aren't passionate about

That's how I was introduced to the series. My dad used to play WipEout Fusion on his PS2 when I was very young (I actually remember being scared by the announcer's deep voice) but I never played a WipEout game until the 2011 psn outage

Big fan of Wipeout. Redout a good game in its own right but could never scratch the Wipeout itch for me. The original on PC still me favourite version.

I always thought of Redout as an F-Zero spiritual sequel, since it is less focused on combat and more on a sense of speed. The way the ship grips the track also reminds me of F-Zero. The best WipEout tribute I've found is BallisticNG, but it caters more to the old crowd with WipEout 3 physics and artstyles
It's all in my steam deck

Maybe that's why I didn't really get into it, I'll have to have a look at BallisticNG.

Have you had a chance to play Omega collection on PSVR? Definitely one of the best VR experiences around, but can be hard on the stomach if you get motion sickness.

I never could afford a psvr but playing Omega Collection in VR is definitely on my gaming bucket list. Once I get my regular bills under control, I'll probably save for a psvr2
