It really just looks like a generic third person bounty hunter space shooter, with different esthetics this could be a Dune game, but this is Star Wars so I want lightsabers and force users.
Kay Vess is just a female Han Solo replacement so no points for originality. Extremely similar outfit and colors, they even put her in front of Jaba.
When you really breakdown the pricing Ubisoft has really outdone themselves.
For the $110 Gold Edition you get:
-->3 day early access to a singleplayer game which doesn't add any value. Who cares.
-->A cosmetic.
-->Two DLC one of which is a day one "DLC" basically a mission from the base game locked behind a paywall in an edition that is $40 more expensive than the standard edition.
"This is really impressive. You don't see d!ck eating like this everyday."
How it lasted so long and go so big is beyond me.
It was boomer mythology.
It was always wrong and that's why it can only suck now.

Antiwokie media flops pretty much every other day of the week and after all the screeching about woke this woke that. Nothing will change. Because the arguments are yaawn
...I'd probably get alcohol poisoning.

There was a time in the crafting of fiction when social commentary and the exploration of social issues was incorporated into such complicated things as... "writing."
There was no need to slap the viewer in the face with Jay Leno's chin being rented out to wear a wig in a video game.
Instead, reasonably bright persons would use a "pen" and some pieces of paper and would gather around a table in a secret room to hash through something called a "story." Stories were crafted from the Ancient Magic, handed down through the generations, with principles in use over thousands of years of careful crafting.
Today, most fictional crafters of pulp fumble through writing incompetent pieces of garbage that they, for unknown reasons, believe are high art.
SOMEWHERE, someone cashed a paycheck because they obeyed a producer's direction to steal Lon Chaney's Frankenstein appliances from the Smithsonian, glue them on Jay Leno's chin, and slap a wig on it.
But, honestly, the real problem in gaming and other works, like movies, is that those who are stumbling around in a writer's room because they forgot to turn on the lights are either too stupid to write a competent story or they believe their audience is too stupid to understand anything more complicated then being browbeaten to death with the obvious. (Well, they could be bound by the dictate of their producer's, but it's their names on the darn things.)
Why isn't the female character "appealing" to many? That's easy...
IF she was gorgeous, cute, or even more feminine, it would alienate the fanbase these producers think they've already got by the short-hairs.
So, if she was gorgeous, a lot of confused people would scream that they've made a game centered around a weak, feminine, woman... But, now that her chin is worthy of Mount Rushmore, she must be... stronk. Very stronk! IS MUCH STRONK! Those vocal complainers can't understand things like "story" so they have to get their bits of fiction ladled out carefully into safe sippy-cup servings for them.
Oh, and add a cute puppy sidekick, to show her feminine side... Yes, make it so colorful it looks like a clown threw up on it, too.
Leia would just tell her to get the ___ outta the way. Or, blast her to smithereens for trying to steal her dad's stuffs... A few strong words from Ripley and she'd wither. Or melt, depending on her preferences. Heck, there's fifty-eleven strong, beautiful, female leads in Hollywood that few could question, let alone stand a strong stare-down from. Nope - Too womanly and, as we all know, womenz is weake, rite?

A note: The facial animations runs the gambit from "mostly wood" to "hey, that almost looked good." I think some of those prerenders were rushed fill-ins or post. (Maybe they used facial tracking and they'd already finished studio production for what they first planned on using? The dubs sort of make it seem like that, too.)
PS: I really don't care. It's Ubisoft, so I won't be buying it. But, it's fun to rant about and everyone else seems to care, so... /shrug
The point does stand, though - When people were writing good fiction in media, they told stories and they used their expertise to craft narratives that grabbed the audience and conveyed the messaging, if any, with subtlety using allegory and metaphor. They didn't HAVE to rely on blatantly obvious crap that alienates people that don't wish to be treated like toddlers by overpaid producers and unimaginative studios.
Eh I'll stop talking about woke if people stop calling everything including their mothers woke.
Garbage Ubisoft. They're locking content away (Jabba's Gambit mission) to get people to buy the Gold edition on launch.
This is just reprehensible.
That they gatekeep content on Day 1 like that is just obnoxious.
It's their product and they can do what they want with it up to a point. But, nobody should buy anything Ubisoft creates. Nothing. Let them die on the vine if all they're going to produce is exploitative and predatory games like this.
It is insane how many gamers are willing to line up to be abused and pay their abusers for the privilege. It's crazy. And, it should be criminal for companies to promote such products that use such rampantly predatory product pricing practices on children. It's heckin' EVIL. #^%%# Ubisoft.
Ubisoft: "To clarify, Jabba the Hutt and the Hutt Cartel are one of the main syndicates in Star Wars Outlaws and will be part of the experience for everyone who purchases the game, regardless of edition. The 'Jabba’s Gambit' mission is an optional, additional mission with the Hutt Cartel along Kay and Nix's journey across the Outer Rim. This mission will be available to those who purchase the season pass or an edition of the game which includes the season pass."
So it looks like they had already started on the season pass already, which is that extra cost and will add to it even more over time.
Some people pay for a season pass and by the time they had already clocked the game, the content of the season pass hasn't been released yet. So depends what way you think of it I guess?
Worst thing you can do to Disney is no longer care and forever be a lost customer. And Ubisoft honestly has a lot of nerve after taking games out of peoples library
