What's the deal with the "Bear vs Man" argument?
I mean, I've seen the arguments on FB and Reddit but I feel like, as many other people point out, that without much context, it's easy for people to get upset and confuse other people's arguments as somehow defending bad behavior. Feels like the question and video was initially presented as a thought experiment and to see how people would react, and it blew up because everyone already had something to say about that.

But no one learned anything new and the question, if meant to be funny, was treated as anything but. And the only thing it did accomplish is getting people to think and believe whatever they already thought. Basically, confirmation bias. To make matters worse, some people used it as somehow a marker of other people's character and personality. As if somehow the answer to the question can tell you ANYTHING about a person's moral compass.

How would you have felt if you hadn't eaten breakfast?
That one outed so many people of being incapable of abstract-thinking.

A bear would forget about you in a flash, but a human would not.
Bears are so cute and cuddly! I don't see the problem in walking over to pet them.
It's bait, man. It's the standard of our society ~ pissing each other off for no good reason. Controlling each other for stupid reasons. Smiling at the cosmic horror as it eats away at the fabrics of our society.

It's all bait. It's meant to get you pissed off.
Anyways. That's what toxic femininity looks like, if you've ever wondered. Say the most vile ♥♥♥♥ imaginable about half of the population, and then shrug and say "Who cares, lol. When did you ever care about my opinion?"

0% aggression, 100% venom.

What kind of bear is it, anyway? Black bears can be bros, polar bears less so.
its never mentioned.. but since majority of bears arent a threat its indeed a safer choice given that the average human has a higher threat level

This really needs testing!

Please... please, could you? I mean... No, really, I wouldn't want you to do that. But, yeah, like... please? Just go out there and find yourself a bear. Just one. Bring a camera with a note taped to it to post the contents to the Steam: Off-Topic forums. You know, just in case you lose it or something.

But, yes, please go out into the woods and find a bear to walk with so this riddle can for once and for all be solved!

the point is to use groupthink to remind oneself that one is weak. that's all.

What the deal with airplane peanuts?

the entire point of the food service reduction was to discourage flights, and people with peanut allergy were a marginal but significant number of people.

It just proves people are bad at risk assessment and statistics.
Or rather, it proves women in general like victimizing themselves and repeating the overused old narrative that "Men are bad.".
TikTok seems to always come up with the dumbest feminist ideas.

I wanna say TikTok in general seems to always have some stupid ideas. I mean, didn't the stupid "viral challenges" that people did originate from TikTok? Youtube might at least require parental supervision for some videos these days. I doubt TikTok asks the same. It's why we continue to get stupid challenges that are similar to that "Tide Pod challenge". Next thing you know, they'll challenge each to face off against an actual bear in the woods. smh. -_-

In USA where the topic originally comes from we have numbers that say that black bears outnumber brown ones by 10:1, that makes vast majority of bears quite harmless
