Gabe Newell is a brony

who is his favourite pony? the only ones i know are rainbow dash and pinkie pie, but i imagine perhaps it is being one of these.
IDK never really watched it myself. Tried to watch one ep and it was meh. I have heard there are some more adult jokes.. I don't think sexual adult but just stuff a kid wouldn't get.

But I can get more of that from Bugs Bunny and Phineas and Ferb, even spongebob seemed more adult to me than pony did.

i watched it 10+ years ago or so, whenever it was being really big. some friends of mine at the time were into it. i do quite like cartoons/animation, so i was not really being put off by the "cute pony" aesthetic or nothing like that.

i just did not think that even as a cartoon, it was particularly engaging. the messages and themes are very "young", it is definitely written for very young children. while i suppose adults could enjoy it, i could not personally.

Yes that is a good way to put it.. the story seemed really directed to a very young group and it just really had nothing for me. I also have watched tons of anime/cartoons and it wasn't the cute that bothered me really.

I've never seen a brony with big muscles
It's still true

I imagine the estrogen is making it harder to achieve that
yeah kind of weird, this applies to adults watching kids shows in general

Nostalgic thoughts have always had their unique strength to them, how has the person seen them as.. Typically, as truly valuable and cherished.

for mlp specifically i would agree with this as it is being aimed at very young children for the purposes of education and moral learnings, but i think there are being plenty of cartoons that are still enjoyable by adults.

for example: courage the cowardly dog. as a huge horror fan, the amount of experimental art styles and horror homages that cartoon is having is incredible, i would be considering it among the "best" of the horror genre.

I can totally understand having nostalgia for shows you grew up with, but watching courage for the first time when you're like 30 would be a bit of a 🤨 from me

i can understand this feeling, for me it is more about the art. i like horror, and i find the process of drawing and animating classic animation fascinating, so i like to appreciate it on such a level i suppose.

Those who were massively into mlp not even a decade ago, are stone cold right wingers nowadays.

… when you can’t find the golden middle ground in life. :lunar2019crylaughingpig:

Now that’s very ‘unusual’ to me.
