Why are all software jobs going to India?

So I've been looking at software jobs for a while. I'm not a great programmer but I keep in the loop. I know India has been a big hub for talent for a while but I noticed instead of visa hooolders coming here to take jobs, jobs are outright going to india now. When I look at certain websites that have job postings, they don't even list US jobs anymore. Western companies are straight hiring in India.

I don't mind India getting some jobs, but we can't lose both manufacturing to China AND software development and technology to India. Some of our western companies need the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ (legal) Axe to the face if they want to ship all our jobs over seas. The government should do more to keep these greedy CEO's who want destroy whole nations just so they can get a one time bonus or 1% increase in their stocks. I'm talking jail time, monopoly style breaking up of companies, Let the CIA come back and do it's thing to the CEO's so that if they want to destroy our future

Well you see it’s very simple why pay some idiot 50+ grand here when you can pay them 12-15/hr across seas somewhere


My old company outsourced 85-90 percent of their “techs” to guatemala the new techs make about 7-10/hr I think

The people they laid off were paid about 20/hr

its a mix of a lot of things, indians being basically taught that tech work/programming is a way out of poverty and being promoted in the same vein as being a doctor/lawyer was back in the day (basically you would be doing your family proud if you got a high end tech job) and the economy means cheaper labour for corporations to exploit

It´s not a thing of now. That happens for a bit longer.

Also it doesn´t matter were the software is done - the quality is the same everywhere if You have the same skilled people. And You have no costs for transport, as it can be transported with the web...

I literally sat in some presentation of a company which was looking for people, and they advertised that they have their biggest site in Germany and are proud of it. In the back was the world map, with all the sites. So i asked: "If the site with 180 people is the biggest - are the 10,000 people in India all in different sites?" And the answer was, that they´re part of another company, and she said that it´s the biggest site of the company with that other name, but both would belong to the same mother company. It´s like business and politics works nowadays - You straight up lie, or tell something which sounds good - even if the evidence that it´s all bs is in front of Your eyes. And that´s not talking about that they got rid of their workers union, because apparently all the employees agreed on it, because the employer is so great, and everyone´s super happy to work there. While it turned out that they wanted to hire people for their rental work company anyways - not for the main one...

recipe for destroying a country from inside out

you invite lots of people in, fire the old legal $20 workers, then rehire from the $7 hour unpapered people and you also ship out the $30 an hour software job to elsewhere who works for $10 an hour.

this leaves a rich overclass and little miidleclass, and huge dependent lower class who will vote for the ones who will give handouts.

I know it sucks. I love Capitalism but I also realize how dangerous it can be when left to it's own devices. Personally I'd rather opt for small socialism to chain the beast rather than kill capitalism altogether but if it came to a choice between the future of my country and my family, you would best better believe I would support the CIA kidnapping CEO's and putting them in jail for the rest of their life.

And why not when in the west you have to pay for diversity and inclusion departments that usually get paid WAY more then the actual people doing the work and actively act as enforcers making the company more hostile for everybody. Maybe if western big tech did not have so many fake bloat jobs they would of stayed.

Especially when the "workers" would rather act as activists then doing their flipping jobs.

Yes - but then all countries would need to agree on it, or else it never happens, because "We would be more expensive and lose to the competition."

And it´s not that there wouldn´t be a human right which says "same pay for the same work", but apparently if You do a sub company (here, or elsewhere) it´s not the same work any more.

Even then it wouldn´t work, because the investors would just go elsewhere and rather earn their money with cheap labor.

But the most important thing is that they complain about labor shortage, when they say that htere a shortage if You have less than 2 possible people for a job to have a choice, or rather that two people can compete with the money they demand - and for IT it´s only 1.97 people -> severe worker shortage which needs to be addressed...

OP that would require to lobbyism aka "legal" political bribery to be illegal, a complete overhaul of the electoral college & how voting works, term limits to avoid career politicians holding too much power, Corporations stop being greedy and writting loopholes into the law via lobbyism & bought career politicians, an actual clean up of the entire upper echelon of the CIA (they tend to do the dirty work of Corporations, example coup d'etat if a non-nuclear country nationalizes their oil or other critical resources) etc.

Essentially there's no short-term solution to fix this, unless you're willing to go full French Revolution / October Revolution on the system itself and survive. With that being said, India & China are developing nations it was a matter of time before they started grabbing a lot of the work market & eventually new innovations, same applies to the so called "Global South" countries in general.

Edit: TL;DR so far is "profit over literally anything else", and has been for decades. The status quo will remain heading in the direction it's going, because the overton window is on other more important topics ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
