California's minimum wage increases to $20
It should have been $25 like Amazon, but it's a great start!

This is fantastic news. People should be paid a living wage, even if they work at Subway or Pizza Hut.

This is economic liberalism at its finest.

Vote Biden 2024.

Maybe I can get a remote job piloting a burger-flipping drone.
More companies are reducing the number of employees and reducing hiring, and worse, raising prices. Fast food in California is no longer going to be affordable. Here in VA, I just paid $10.02 cents for a Frisco Burger and small fries at Hardee's on Friday night. Thursday night, I paid $25 for a veal parmigiana meal to go. Food prices have gone up for supplies and it is hitting people everywhere.
Maybe I can get a remote job piloting a burger-flipping drone.
i think you dont need human for this job, i am sure automating can do that
I can't think of any job more entry level than burger flipping, which they just made more costly to do for no reason other than good feels. A person on the street with no money is going to have to pay more for their food which is now even more out of reach.

Minimum wage should be lowered. And for employees that want to work at that wage I say God bless them.

Now if housing, gas, electricity, water, insane tax rates and all those other nonsense fees would go away we wouldn't even NEED a minimum wage.

Sadly, for some reason, there are those who believe that an entry level job is supposed to be a job that people can work to let them "live" without the need for advancement or using it to learn skills to be able to get different, higher paying work.

There are those who will quite skilled labor jobs to go flip burgers, but as it stands, with the number of franchisees who are reducing the number of people that they are hiring to limiting the hours people work, as well as moving to kiosk ordering. I live on the opposite side of the country from Cali and Taco Bell has already moved to kiosk ordering. SMH.

Min wage should be abolished, It's not meant to live on.

Would abolishing minimum wage result in there being more jobs by which people could make a living?

That will probably cause prices on goods and services to rise to cover the increase price of having humans employed.

The economy is at best a zero sum game.
this.
either that or have lot of people lose their job, or both.

Northern Mexican states, thanks to NAFTA, that is where a lot of business moved to, or at least the labor portion of the companies.
