Just cause the government can produce money out of thin air, it doesn't mean local businesses can do the same to pay their employees a modern-day living wage
This economy is a mess.
We have been witnessing the destruction of economic prosperity as America and the western world slow rolls into a third world anti-capitalism communist utopia.
These rabid leftoid ideologues can't seem to figure out when they pass these progressive Marxist policies inflarion goes up in turn causing higher prices, including more expensive labor costs, which then kills opportunity within a merit based system and forces businesses to figure out cost saving measures to offset those rising labor costs.
The end result then becomes the disappearance of the higher wage positions as well as people getting laid off in a workforce getting smaller in size, lower incomes at sh*ttier jobs, the end of overtime, decreasing benefits and a pension which disappears the moment you go to collect it.
Sure, you might be getting $20/hr at your minimum wage job, but now your workforce is smaller - i.e. less people running the cash registers and less people on shift - thus leading to less job opportunity, higher prices on every product and service, and a cost of living that is skyrocketing through the roof.
The last time I was in a California fast food restaurant, In & Out Burger I believe or it might have been Jack in the Box, there were only three people on shift. There was only 2 people cooking and 1 person running the drive-thru with an insane line down the street and 15+ minutes wait time per order.
What is California's solution to these job killing policies? More government and bigger government, yet the democrats can't figure out why they're causing businesses, which can't compete in their oppressive economy, to flee their democrat controlled big cities and states. It's insane.
Folk will learn this one way or another.

Imagine gas pumps where no one pumps the gas for you? I hear some countries have that, savages.
Wage hikes that are government mandated will increase the cost of living, increase inflation, decrease available jobs. Some people will likely lose their jobs because of this and some businesses will go under.
There's probably some thinking "Good if these companies can't pay their employees X then they shouldn't be in a business" Congrats Mega-corporations appreciate your loyalty as you help them crush small businesses, and the wealth gap is frowning on you.

2) It will be cheaper to automate fast food. It's already started in many cities in the US. Fast food restaurants that typically need 30-50 employees to run weekly, will be able to get by with only 4-8 employees who ensure the automation is working properly.

3) The cost of the food will increase to offset the loss of revenue due to wages. This will mean fewer customers, particularly those who make less wages.
This is another great example of how liberal policies harm those they claim to help.
And communist countries are famous for during massive scale purges of their own citizens.
