I believe it comes down to the owner and how the dog was raised
It also comes down to just the dogs personality, it may have aggressive moments as do all dogs but I have also met pitbulls who are the sweetest and most gentle potato's you'd ever meet uwu

Pitbulls were banned in the UK thirty years ago.

You can never stop incompetent owners buying dogs they can't train or control so the simplest thing to do is ban them. The dogs I mean :D

Personally, I think all dogs above a certain weight should be banned, but that's just me.

I don't hate pitbulls but unfortunately they form part of the stereotype of a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ dog owner so I have to give them a moderately sized berth because of all the people who feel the need to embody that stereotype

Edit: because you know there's "average Pitbull owner" and then there's "average Labrador owner" and for some reason the latter type of owner doesn't cause as many dog attacks. Perhaps because some of them are blind and the dogs are guide dogs. Anyways,

Cause they were bred for fighting. There's plenty of stories of pits lashing out at the owner for NOTHING! They weren't starved, they weren't abused, they weren't mistreated in any way, they lash out for NOTHING. They should either be illegal, or require a licence to own, like a tiger. Every parent who harms their child with them should be sued to oblivion.

to clarify the pitbulls were incidental to the science ultimately. everything from roosters and hens to mice and turtles confirmed: it depends entirely on how you raise them, and how they as an individual choose to either accept or reject that upbringing.
