Google and Amazon is destroying the gaming industry while filling its own pockets

Okay I made a post about video games losing their appeal and it went south.

Let's start from scratch and give it a new try.

Since YouTube began allowing LPs and walkthroughs of video games, buying and playing a video game became ancient.

Why buy the game, play it 100 hours, when a pro tuber will do it for you in 1080p while you leisurely watch plus can chat online socially.

Interestingly Google and Amazon are reaping bags of gold doing it

Depends on the game.
Some games are fun to play and worth buying, and actually I'd argue that the pro streamers HELP the games. There are many many games within the past few years that would have never became the smash hits that they were without streamers.

But yeah stuff like visual novels get screwed by streamings and lets plays.

Probably an exaggeration. But probably not.

Triple AAA titles are probably benefitting from streaming services because people rush to buy a triplle AAA anyways.

But smaller studios might be get hit hard. Meh this game is not tripple AAA so why I don't just watch it online (usually abandon middle) to never return to buy or even watch to the end.

I think the exact opposite.
Everybody already knows about the "Triple AAA titles" (lol) and will buy them if they want to just like they have for the past decade. But nobody knew about Palworld, Among Us, Only Up, Escape from Tarkov, and countless others before streamers picked them up and popularized them.

no, it originally means south like in terms of state or data/charts and their graphs.. like my company goes south if it loses in value on a chart (it goes down which is the south direction).. and ppl just copy it from there
its in general used for going down..

ur issue would be more that south is down

it was a great idea which could have done a lot for this world and its people.. it failed cause the connection absolutely sucked and wasnt accessible
