Why do girls like riding horses?

There are different uses for horses.

More common nowadays are for dressage and simple happy hacking (that is just going for a ride about).

Polo requires more organization than just owning and caring for a horse.
Fox hunting is not allowed in many forms so that reduced the use for 'men'.

Farriers and Blacksmiths have been mainly men for centuries not saying there have not been women just that there have been mainly men doing it.

I grew up with horses and learned to ride very young it baffled me at a young age why some people seemed to have difficulty with it.

The hardest part is getting on them.

Women are generally more into animals and animal-related fields than men are.
I think it is because you need to use your brain to control a horse instead of your brawn. No man can out-muscle a horse but women can manipulate a horse, overcome it, and control it despite it being much larger and stronger than them.

Or maybe woman have always perceived horses as a thing of beauty, where as men have had always perceived them as useful. During our time period now, they are no longer as useful. - Unless you're a betting man :)

that is what lessons are for and horse training to respond to the commands.
A bad rider can be either female or male.

Dunno. I rode horses for physio therapy, and I liked it because "my" horse was just as silly / random / crazy as me. (None of the other kids / teens wanted to ride it because it was "being difficult". Sure it was stubborn, but that was what made it fun, I never had any real trouble with it.
