Lol, yes, thank you for acknowledging my authority on the matter. It took many years of study and rounds of rigorous peer review to determine that Goth existed before I was even born.

What I thought was total bs on the 'rap ' scene was Vanilla Ice got slated and sometimes he goofed up but he was a good entertainer.
I watched a documentary on fifty cent and he was promoting himself in a huge ego sickly way and going on about merchandise and how they advertise everything in the music videos.
I saw this girls buying into it showing off their merchandise and they were obsessive thinking 50 cent actually gave a tiniest care in the world for them because they bought his overpriced crap.

This was long ago but it always touched a nerve.

A big thing too with selling out. Was when it became a thing, or it became known that many bands didn't really play live. They pretended to play while pre-recorded music played. And some would say that they wanted to play live, but the contracts made them do it. I believe nirvana got really angry at it once.

Sometimes it was a scandal if say the singer got distracted or the mic got away from them, but the singing went on because it was the recording.

Like it happened to paris hilton, which wasn't that shocking to people. But some others. Like sometimes a band couldn't sing well at all. And the singing was provided by people who had the voice, but not the looks or widespread appeal.
