What do you consider to be masculine?
One of the most successful times in western history was when men were dressing like fruit loops and fairies (Renaissance),

Spartan men, while very muscular, had a lot of homosexual relationships or "battle buddies". This would help with morale.

Alexander the great got packed like every night.

Roman nobles engaged in all-male orgies

The 80s? Guess what, I have a secret: Glam and hair metal bands. Shh.
Lets not pretend they weren't oiling up their thighs so they can slip into skin tight leather pants, with most men dressing androgynous.

Stop acting like this "Yeeeaahhh brother, im gonna smash 30 beers, slap some ass and call people gay" is manly. Foh. That is what a 10th year dropout at 60 sounds like.

people are gatekeeping masculinity now?

er what? - no idea what that means
gate keeping: creating a gate that serves as criteria for a concept

"if not these, then not masculine": as example.

I believe in universal manly values:
Being truethful;
Being respectful;
those are gendered now?
Not really.

You chose only two, which makes me think the third item is considered gendered for you.

Those things are essential for a cis or trans male to look masculine. Of course there are a set of physical secondary sexual attributes that constitute a male, but each one alone is not gendered either (like having a grave voice or large shoulders).

The penis itself is not enough, but along with some of the secondary sexual attributes, it usually constitutes a male form.

Any male-shaped person can, however, look very unmanly by not behaving like I mentioned.

Ex.: a packed gym guy, who is always screaming for no reason, and who cheats on a lot of women in order to convince himself he is "alpha" or some ♥♥♥♥. That quickly doesn't resemble anything manly.
I mean... if you don't accept the physical traits of gender then how can you actually qualify it?

you can't really, since pretty much everything else is personality.

Just some of the people I consider masculine.
Not stating 'this is what all must think' .

Dr FranknFurter is very masculine as is Rocky (erm both Sylvester Stallone Rocky and the Rocky Horror).

Many things can define masculinity and it differs from person to person.

Take Manliest Cartoon thread as an example.

Yes, there is a set of physical traits that matter. They don't qualify someone as manly on their own (i.e. a strong jaw or large shoulders), but having a few of those traits is required.

The personal traits, however, are very important.

Someone very strong and large and harry can stop looking manly very quickly if they scream and whine: "Nein! Nein! Nein!"

pretty sure people would still call them a "man-baby" as their physical traits clearly distinguish them as masculine tho?
Facial hair. It varies from man to man if they have a youthful face.

Or just "baby" , "spoiled brat" , and so on.

Definitely not an example of manlyness.

that's actually a rather interesting topic... hair has been highly valued in many cultures over time as a sign of wisdom and age.

long ago tradition was if you had a feud with someone you'd cut off their hair... and in doing so they'd know that their life was in your hands but you'd chosen to spare them... and hence having long hair was a sign that you'd either not angered someone to that extent or could protect your hair. XD
Can't I just be a femboy without anybody judging me?
Long hair was also a synonym of masculinity, as it meant fertity.

Bald people have sharpely declined their ability to reproduce.

You can, and most of OT loves femboys, don't worry.

so you're gatekeeping masculinity??
You´re masculine if You feel masculine. That´s it.

Else, as i meditated about wood chopping lately and compared my skills to a woman doing it, i´d say it´s more masculine to do some primal sounds while chopping wood - and occasionally stop to hit with one fist on Your breast while stating how manly and hard this work is, but that You´re a man, so the wood is obviously weaker than You with Your Fiskars...
