That study is trying to find the correlation to high-shyness and dependance on short-form content.
It isn't saying that shirt-form content is the cause.
“Ah yes!! Dax the femboy is the answer to all of our problems!! We will bring back the Ming Empire and make China great again!! *laughs in Chinese* “
TikTok isn't even headquartered in China. They're currently building massive and expensive data firewalls to keep US user data within the borders of the US. So far, they've provided more evidence that they're protecting US user data than US government has provided that they don't do that. Because the government has provided nothing so far to base that decision on.
I really don't wanna see a repeat of that with a tiktok ban.
Even if China is spying, they don't need TikTok for that purpose.
The real concern about TikTok is what they are pushing upon the users and if that content is harmful to the youth. Yet that's ditto for other social platforms too.
If a person installed a Social Media app on their cellphone, it can access your photos/videos, contact list, and even your GPS location, etc. It can collect a lot more stuff which it shouldn't even need to access. Look at the Google Play store > App > Data Safety. Note it says "Photos and Videos", "Audio", "Approx Location", "Contacts", "Web Browsing History" and/or "Financial Info", etc. Now most of those will be (hopefully) marked as "Optional" and give you the reason for that access. You should ideally deny and restrict it's access at least. I would suggest high security and government individuals don't use them, yet that would be all social media platform. xTwitter is currently the worst, with even Precise GPS location tracking.
