Demon's Souls. You can play it offline but it's empty without the ghosts and messages. Also one of the bosses is intended to be a PvP boss, where you fight the last person who beat him.

Plus blues joining worlds to help fight bosses and reds invading worlds for PvP was an intended mechanic. The only way to avoid it was to play as a ghost, which cut your max HP by one third.

Without the servers it's a shell of its former self. I got the Asian version of the game before Atlus localized it for the USA, so I was playing it before the official launch in the USA. I played it the last week before the servers shut down for good, and did some PvP in shrine of storms the last few days it was online.

I hope it comes to PC some day. I think there is a remastered version on the Ps5 or something but I don't want to buy a Ps5 just to play one game.

There are good live service games, just not very many can exist at once.

TF2 is a good example, it's a good game or was.
