Immortality just means endless suffering, as you're forced to watch everything and everyone around you cease to exist while you continue living- you would see your parents die, your children, your S.O.'s, friends, all family, the Earth, the literal heat death of the universe; and for what?

Death is a release- immortality is suffering with no end
