i feel games now a days are just so dumbed down
games use to take skill to play and learn and get better at, now we got games that have like a super easy hero/item that just makes the game low iq since why try to learn a hard/right way to play the game but you can just cheese it. its kind of offensive too to try and perfect your skill in a game just for it to not matter cause there is always that one person not even trying and on the same level as you cause of something.

oh the guy who works on his aim? welp there a cheater who has like 50 alts and will do better than you and annoy you. oh a game that is a pvp game aka moba or with perks? welp theres gonna be something with shields or 2nd chances so have fun! the list goes on. theres legit no longer learning curves but whats the most broken or meta things and abuse it. it happens even in dark souls games. so many weapons to use and builds to try of someone is using a fast paced bleed build? zzzzzzzzzzz

i miss when devs toned things and rewarded players who are skilled instead of punishing them. if i take the time to be good at the game i should have all the resources to use that skill. not verse people using cheap tricks or cheats but actual fair fields. smurfing also is a cheat, i am trying to learn a new game and your gonna just bully me till i quit a game even tho i just started it? its so cringe tbh.

i will still play games with skill and use what i want and play how i want but man it really hurts being good at something and have it not matter cause of poor dev teams. this hurts in boss games when a boss has movements and counters and so on just for you to cheese it and kill it in 2 sec when all that effort in making them was for nothing.

The gaming industry will always lean towards the easier things and this is unfortunately more acceptable than complicated mechanics nowadays.

It's the same thing as films that have an adult content and romance films that hide this part, 90% of the media prefers to do something that reaches an entire audience rather than focusing on something specific, it's basic marketing.

Gaming is a slowly dying industry. Too bad for Gabe Newell didn't go public while gaming was at its peak. Nowadays he would get sub price and interest from investors.

Similar things have hapenned over the decades. Hot entertainment drifts like Pinball, 3D Movies, Bowling have steadily declined in interest.

To me the problem is bloating the game with filler to extend the playtime.

Stellar Blade is the latest victim of this trend that I played at least, because why have consistent fun when you can do chores and side content that's soul drainingly boring? Who actually enjoys these is beyond me, they're straight up experience killers because they last so much longer than fun bits.

Unfortunately games that are dumbed down have a bigger appeal to the majority audience. A lot of people don't have the time to spend hundreds of hours learning the mechanics or best strats for games, hence there being little to no skill gap. This has been my issue as well because I typically enjoy games that have a higher skill gap so it's easier to see who has spent more time and dedication to a game versus someone who might have just started.

Have you tried not killing everything?

What if you are dumbed down yourself, and they cannot make any other games for you, because you always kill everything, without seeking another solution?

i have no idea what you are trying to say, i want games to be harder and challenging not easier and low iq. anyone can play any game now a days but it would be nice to have games only a select few can actually beat. from software is loved for this reason. they throw out the book and just make the games insanely hard to play that only a few beat the first bosses and not refund. i have beaten all from software games and love the challenge and have beaten or challenge games as well. there is so little challenge games but more rpgs and fps games that lack of it cause why try something hard like a hero in league when you can just play a champ who clicks 2 buttens the whole 1 hour match.

challenge=fun=smarter player base and people actually know what they want. any thing else for expample cod you get a playerbase that wants something but also wants no changes. so all they get is better graphics and nothing else since they cry about the game being too hard for them to proccess there already dumb downed state of mind.

Try a different genre, e.g. Elite Dangerous or x4: Foundations - the learning curve is pretty high...

There are SO many games available, there is something for everyone... Be it hard, easy, simple or complex. I think we've got the best time for gaming right now. It is completely impossible for me, to play everything I want to play. There is so much good stuff. Well, I do like a lot of different types of games. Sometimes something easy is just what I need, while I do very much enjoy the Sekiro type of games aswell.
