is "trash talk" a legitimate part of gaming?
what do you think? does some "friendly banter" have a place in gaming?

I think it makes it more fun... as long as people know when to take it easy...

"Ew. Are you being serious?" As in do you really hold this (dõgshit) opinion?
It's not funny when you have to explain it

Yes I'm aware women play video games in 2024, which led to my previous question in reaction to your take, my autistic child. :D
so you are aware and yet are unable to make the logical connection?

IMO when a multiplayer game starts losing its appeal, the ability to do in-game trolling or trash talking can breathe a lot of new life into the game experience.

It can also make things more fun for the general community, because some players develop reputations for trash talking in the community, makes 1v1 grudge matches and stuff more exciting in RTS games when you're watching a couple trash talkers playing vs each other, makes things more fun and engaging for game spectators, etc.

As long as it's kept in a moderation, which is different for each individual.. It can help thicken one's skin, get more used towards handling it without getting bothered by it.
That said, I'd much rather hear people motivating each other to make their gaming experiences even better.

if your game does not have slurs or death threats its a weak game for sure and should not be played
Yeah, I remember when people used to trash talk in the pre-game lobby of Halo 3.

Poop talk is a poart of gaming. When you talk about your bowel movement activity, what color your poop is on the shade of brown or even green if you're lucky like a leprechaun.
