Americans can't afford travel?
The US State Department estimates that 37 per cent of the population has a valid passport.

Are Americans uncultured or is travel too expensive?

I think its worthless to travel to where cultures and almost city infrastructure are too similar. I never thought im excited in travelling to eu or australia or new zealand as almost everything is too similar to the us

I mean I don't use it, to be fair the American health care system is complete garbage, and our Veterans hospitals are overrun because of our insane military budget

I seriously doubt you're actually American at this point, because most of your posts about America are as ignorant as the lunatic's. We have the best hospitals in the world, the best medical schools, and we're the sole country that advances medical science and technology. So yes, we have a great health care system here in the US.

I am an American, and all of my posts have been about not judging Americans as a "whole". Clearly we disagree, and you're response is "You're not American". Way to fit into the hive mind I was ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about

A huge percentage of Americans are one health care issue away from being unable to afford rent, groceries, utility bills, or a combo of the three.

Depends on where you live, I'm doing just fine, and I live alone in a decent apartment.

Im a War Veteran, I have free health care.
VA healthcare, "we care about our vets, up until they can no longer serve. Then they're on their own."

Not really where, it's just minimal wage isn't a livable wage. Especially people on SSI/SSD

Fair point, I do have a standard job, and I was lucky enough to land a private land owner, not some company.

I guess for transparency sake, I live in the midwest, my rent is $500 and I tend to make about $800-$1000 a week.

If that's true I am guessing you're not Asian, because we actually seem to be able to take advantage of the upward mobility only the US offers without the larp and complaning.

No, I'm Caucasian... I don't really get what your driving at. I do just fine because I show up to work, do my job, and go home at the end of the day...

Yeah I have a few rental units and I've effectively made it so all my tenants are 100% aware of their rights, and aware of programs they can use to cut costs. One guy was 3 months late so I sat down with him and tried to get him to file for Section 8, he was too proud so unfortunately I had to evict.

However I did get him the resources he needed to file and get on the list for low income housing, which he did last I heard.

No intent to sell, especially to a corp/company, and if I do need to sell some day, I'm going to do a lot of vetting for whoever buys.

Yeah that's not all too bad, rent for a 1 bedroom here is bordering $1k and 99% of it's all owned by companies.

You're the kind of land lord I love, I was 3 months behind due to unemployment and my owner suggested I ask the Veterans Affair to help and voila, they paid like 4 months of rent to let me get caught up and become stable again.

Yeah, the VA is a damned shame. It really should be gutted and built back from the ground up.

But at least they're not pushing MAID like the Canadian healthcare system.
