I don't like video games anymore?
I'm not quite sure how I feel. Since I turned 26 years old, something in my brain clicked where I like to work more often, clean the house, do yard work

but when i sit down on my computer, deep down I love to play my video games but I either don't finish them or i never play them at all

Something in my brain is like "Am i getting older? Is it that modern game sucks and I like to play old games?"

I really don't know what to think or how I feel about this

All I wanted is to love games again :bonfire2::er_sad:

As someone who is a 40 year old and is (still) addicted to gaming...? Nah, that is your brain telling you to take a break of playing the same thing for months nonstop and telling you to do something constructive instead.

tl;dr: Younger brain = easily amused. Big brain = not easily amused. Videogame = big boom boom for kids.

modern games do suck... they bait you in with a shallow shell of an experience to sell you "content".

There are some games that can catch your attention. Put efforts into, pass time, then switch to something else or enter a different hobby

I'm not that old but they are good games

I'm more like late 90's and early 2000's era for Sonic and Mario games especially on Game Cube & Wii

Gosh all my friends have been the same; I never play PvP games anymore without them, and the games I do play are more like personal hobbies like automation games. Maybe it wasn't the games that kept us hooked, but the people and memories that came from them. If you have a friend (or friends, or even family) who you can enjoy playing games with; it can make all the difference when you're able to creating lasting memories with the people around you whilst enjoying your hobby!

Perhaps it is time to leave such childish things behind. :aos2nanako:

Should have said "...such simplified ways of living your life" instead of "childish". It makes your post feel more mature and reasonable.

How do you feel about the Total war series?
I've played a few Shogun Shogun 2 and MEdieval total war definitive edition ?

or Mount and Blade Warband?

The easiest way to test and see if old games really were just better is to play some old games.

Don't have any old games?

Yes you do! Pangea Software has made some of their formerly commercial games stuff freely available[pangeasoft.net]. Since they were a mac focused company, most people won't be tainted by feelings of reminiscence when playing those either. That means it's going to be a more objective gameplay based experience.

Mighty Mike, Nanosaur and Bugdom are my recommendations.
