Anyone still remember Windows NT?
I sense much NT in you.
NT leads to Bluescreen.
Bluescreen leads to downtime.
Downtime leads to suffering.
NT is the path to the darkside.
Powerful Linux is.

I still have my 4.0 Workstation CD and key. The original Half-Life(on CDs) Ran fine as a VMware.machine.

Do you have any specific questions about it?
Quaint little poem you got there.

NT and later were based on NT... so thats why it still says NTUSER in certain services even on WIn10(and probably 11)
indeed still on 11 it's based on NT...

"Do you remember NT" yeah no ♥♥♥♥ it's been used as the Kernel for pretty much every version of Windows since 2000 because the 9x Kernel was such a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, that's why ME failed so bad.
this is one reason it seems ridiculous to me to force people to "update"... or even to have a separate OS in what is essentially just a UI overhaul.... it's like the COD sales model.

edit: or actually more like pokemon... COD doesn't have multiple versions >.<

why does my computer still say "NTUSER"?

seems like NT is not as dead as you think.
NT isn't dead because it is the base for every modern version of Windows.

Modern versions of Windows are basically Windows NT. In the early 2000s, Windows 2000 gained significant marketshare since regular home PCs were now powerful enough to run a Windows NT based operating system without much compromise. This also coincided with the failure of WIndows ME, leading mid to high end PCs of the time bundling Windows 2000 even for home users.

This was only solidified when Windows XP came around, the Windows NT operating system designed for the masses. Windows XP also brought significant improvements to Windows regardless if you were running a 9x based version (Windows 98/98SE/ME) or an NT based version (Windows NT 4/2000). Windows Server still carries the torch of the old Windows NT operating system, although is decisively less different than Windows NT was compared to 9X releases of Windows.

The first OS I used was OS/2 Warp.
IBM OS/2 served as the base for Windows NT, which can be seen in early pre-releases of Windows NT.

Even more unfortunate is that its not exactly dead yet, at least it is still being used by some corporations. I've seen retail employees still using Windows CE barcode scanners as recently as last week.

Certainly more stable than 95 and 98. It was the most stable until Windows 2000.
otehr than BSOD being a thing that happened sometimes I didn't have much issue with old win95/98... I have mostly good memories of lego island.

edit: other than networking... that was aiways a PITA... auto port forwarding and plug-n-play is one of the good things they added.

I remember that well, even the release candidate (RC0) was rock-solid. Good times!

Various companies over the world, as well as in Germany, still use Windows 3.11 today. It is handled as a controller. For example:

Train and Bus stations, Airports, Water and Energy ...

It is even official, but no one is aware of it ..

P.s.:
I had used Windows 2000 until Windows Vista was released. I maybe jhad used Windows XP for a month or two only ..
