Favorite class of weapons
What kind of weapons do you gravitate to in games, and why? For me, I will usually pick a sniper because high, instantaneous damage is always useful. I also like shotguns because no matter what, you have a much higher chance of hitting your target. As a secondary, I love pistols because the recoil is usually great, and headshots with a pistol are fun to pull off. If it's a fantasy game like Skyrim, I always go for a one-handed broadsword because they usually have the best balance between damage and swing time.

That's a very hard choice.
I think polearms are generally pretty OP both in real life and in video games.

Litigation seems to be the most effective weapon these days.

We need to see it represented in more games. Someone get SBI on it.

I have never really used spears, lances, polearms, or any long weapons. I had a Skyrim mod that added stuff like that but I picked one up, and immediately dropped it because I value DPS over short bursts of damage. I know that's hypocritical since I said I like sniper rifles, but snipers can hit someone from anywhere assuming you have like of sight, while polearms still require you to enter melee range

Anything that is very "explode-y" or provides the most dakka per milisecond.

Bows. In every RPG that has that option, I would always pick bows.

So daggers, assault rifles, smgs, and micro missile launchers?

Even in games like Oblivion where the hit detection is super jank

Well yeah... A polearm isn't going to beat a sniper rifle lol
But a polearm still has superior reach to swords/axes/maces/etc.

Sniper > Polearm > Sword but if you are at very short ranges then Sniper < Polearm < Sword

I only played a little bit of Oblivion, but yeah, even if a game has jank with bows, I still try to rock em. I did play Skyrim a lot, though; sometimes I still play it.

I could imagine how a polearm would be useful especially going up against a medium range melee build like I play. In that fight, you would definitely win unless your opponent somehow got in close and let off a flurry of attacks to whittle your health down
