There's also alot of people like that on the anti-vegan end of things too, and few people seem to talk about them.

I think people focus on the vegan side because of That Vegan Teacher. Like most minorities, a few vocal people can define the general reputation of the group, and That Vegan Teacher's constant harassment of people like Gordon Ramsay left a bad impression for vegans. I have nothing against vegan people, I just prefer it for them to not constantly talk about it.
