Why does pre-workout make you torturously itchy?
I tried the skittles flavour C4 this morning and I literally felt like I had ants biting me all over my body for hours, and people are telling me that's normal?!

Just drink coffee.

I DO drink coffee, I drink coffee AND energy drinks. It takes a lot to keep me going.
That's bad you have a caffeine addiction that's why you don't feel anything from it anymore without consuming absurd amounts.

The word you're looking for is tolerance, not addiction.

to me it sounds like u overdosed

I mean I drank one can, but it was a whole can and it was kinda all at once so... maybe? I mean there's no instructions, I didn't even know what it is I just thought it was a regular energy drink! They should put warnings on those things! Big warnings! Because there might have been one but I sure as hell didn't see it right away or at all.
just be careful. try not to consume stuff u dont understand. have a good day

You don't need pre-workout or caffeine. It should not "take a lot" to keep you "going."

Think about it...

You used a bunch of junk prior to working out and you're now all "itchy."

Stop reading the marketing blurbs from supplement companies and just eat healthy, get enough sleep, and work out in a reasonable manner. Take the money you're using for supplements and hire time with a personal trainer to help develop a workout schedule and help you with your progress.
You should really research the ingredients of your pre workout before you put it in your body. And don't dry scoop like all the YouTube morons.

Tbh there is no point in taking any preworkout with stimulants in. Your body gets used to it and instead of over performing when you take it, you will end up under performing when you don't.

I very rarely take pre workout. I have a tub of Rich Piana Full as ♥♥♥♥ in my locker. It's stimulant free and gives incredible muscle pumps, but I'm not sure how much that actually helps with muscle growth. It is only really useful if you want to pose shirtless for photos or something.

Coffee in moderation is healthy.

Energy drinks are not.

There was a meme of what fitness influencers consume on a daily basis.

1st picture is of a table with all sorts of healthy foods, protein powder and creatine.

2nd picture shows the same table from the top, behind the healthy stuff were. . . . other things.

The meme is about perspective and expectations.

I'm actually drinking an energy drink right now reading all this, and I'm going to have another one before bed. I've got so many loose monster cans rolling around the floor of my room it's not even funny, I guess I do have an addiction but at least regular ones don't make me itch like a crack addict that was just too much and it should be illegal maybe I don't know just make the warning bigger or something or just don't put them in the same place as regular energy drinks so people don't be grabbing it when they see skittle flavor like I did, they knew what they were doing what if some child grabbed that? They'd die probably.

You need to discuss weaning off of "energy drinks" with your physician.

And, just in case you're ready with a rebuttal - Addicts are not experts.

So you're an addict then. If you just keep using more and more stimulants it will catch up with you. You're best off reducing it to manageable levels and feel tired for a while until you recover your natural energy.

I used to drink tons of coffee and tea until I reduced it to usually one of each a day. And I feel better long-term as a result.
