none of these are particularly funny; the point is just that the collegiate experience is a social bonding ritual that exists extraneous to the intellectualism, which it basically kicks in the nuts every chance it gets. similar to how these movies aren't actually funny, they're about social bonding. a process repeated in the quotation phenomena.
