I think brighter colors are harder to get right. They look really tacky if you don't know what you're doing. More restrained colors go well with many more things, and that's why I mostly wear gray, white and black.
Its rare to see someone in black or red jeans these days.
White jeans? goodness me, thats just asking for stains.
It's more tied to the specific personal attachment towards the type of clothing due to how comfortable it is, as well as on its design.
If I find a comfortable pink hoodie? Irrelevant. As long as it works and is cheap..
And, the same goes for whichever color you have in mind.
If the clothes just happen to fit each other by having the same or nearly the same colors, then that's just a bonus.
In my case i like wearing red shirts and black pants.
Pink can be cute, I like a more muted pink. Hot pink though, in bulk can make me feel Ill like, by its intensity. Its such a strong, stand out color. Yet other colors don't do that to me, like reds.
rose, blush, flamingo, rouge, bubblegum are pretty pinks to me.
hot pink, fuscia are where it goes too intense.
That doesn't mean, I wouldn't try to combine them out together to wear clothes of the colors of my likings.
I feel embarrassed to wear orange, because it shows my real character and intentions. And dark violet is tied to personal stories of mine. Like how vash the stampede always wears red. It makes me more vulnerable when I wear these colors, because i'm being more real.
Plus they aren't colors I'm suppose to wear. People look at you funny.
