Macguyver and Colonel Jack O Neil
are trapped in a room with a locked door

They have
a paper clip
a string
a magnet
an old key that doesnt fit the lock
a weapon with bullets (but this weapon is set up to only work in Macguyvers palmprint)

how do they get out?

Macguyver would monologue explaining everything he is doing on making some kind of environment friendly explosive while Colonel Jack kicks the door in and throws that scientist guy from stargate in to talk and occupy Macguyver so Colonel Jack can get on with making everybody else feeling inadequate as a way of life.

Ascended Daniel Jackson and a guy in a coma come in for a chat. They seem useless, but suddenly help arrives in the form of a Goa'uld attack which breaks O'Neill and MacGyver out of the facility! And it's all because Teal'c and Kratos somehow gained knowledge of its location...

Is that enough plagiarism? Also sorry to Michael Shanks

If O'Neill is away from the SGC for mote then 5 minutes then some kind of disaster is going to happen sooner or later. Wait for the replicators to start attacking Earth (they'll come back due to plot convenience somehow). They can eat anything eventually, including whatever material is used to make up the room. Him and McGuyver will then fight their way to wherever SG1 is holding up and help them with whatever plan they've come up with to defeat the bugs.

Why would MacGyver have a gun that unlocks with his palm print when he hates guns.
Disassemble the gun of course. There might have been an epusode or two where the disassembled a gun for something. Been a longtime since I watched the show.

I guess you could use the spring for something. IDK ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
if I recall right, O'neal was able to make a 'one time use' zpm, so he'll probably make a time machine to send a message back to send someone to open a way out.

There were extenuating circumstances, unless there's an Alteran knowledge repository he won't be able to make that.

Even among sci-fi people most haven't tried it out, more should though because it shouldn't have died the way it did.

It may be that I stopped watching scifi to watch anime and cartoons because cartoon network became a thing.

One of the last times I still used a tv to watch scifi network was its anime hour or whatever.

There was sliders, battle star, after startrek next generation ended I jumped off star trek. The X-files wasn't my jam

If you stopped after TNG I'd recommend DS9 since that's when it started getting good, also I like Enterprise but that is a bit of an unpopular opinion. For non-trek sci-fi other then Stargate Farscape was pretty good but got confusing later on, and Firefly was as well but was short-lived. Andromeda was kind of a mix of elements from Stargate and Star Trek (filmed in BC and sharing some sets but written by the DS9 people and using some of Roddenberry's ideas) and was really good at first but took a nosedive in early season 2 and became unwatchable by season 4.

As for modern stuff STD is terrible and STP is mixed but SNW is actually fairly good. There are also a couple animated Star Trek series I haven't really gotten into enough to judge quality.

I kinda think games are better scifi than movies now, Like soma, soma was good. I enjoyed watching Prey get played through.

One can get so much of ones scifi these days watching letsplays.
