Hmm i think Jack knocks macguyver out then puts his hand over macguyvers hand on the weapon and shoots the lock

The macguyver solution maybe he emptys the gunpowder out of the bullet by prying it apart with the key. then uses the magnet to fill the lock hole. Then keeps hitting that area with the key to ignite the powder to blow the lock

If it's a standard tumbler lock, either Macgyver or O'Neil could reshape the paperclip into a lockpick and escape within seconds. If it's a keypad, it might take a few minutes to pry off the cover with the key, paperclip and string but still easy.

According to canon, Macgyver doesn't use guns to solve his problems. However, he can figure out how to disassemble the gun and use the parts to unlock the door.

BUT if so, the encounter of them looking at themselves could create a time paradox, the results of which could cause a chain reaction that would unravel the very fabric of the space-time continuum and destroy the entire universe!!!!!

Come to think about it Macgyver did use a gun to shoot at people. He used an AK47 in the pilot episode of Macgyver.
