You don't block the election or the laws the government passes. Or the inflation, or the shortages, or the irl crime.
It's basically an anti-censorship argument? I think? It might not necessarily apply to the OP though, because that's on a personal level, for everyone to decide for themselves, and not globally.
For example, if I can't say that I am against transgenderism and will get banned for it, it will only build my resentment towards the whole thing, and I am going to lash out in another place where they can't silence me. For example irl.
