Developers aren't making super model protagonists anymore so now outrage merchants are exaggerating things to convince porn addicts that the "woke" is taking away their porn, also the general "anti-woke" crowd who constantly need something to be angry at.

They act like transvestigstors over analyzing women to find any arguably masculine details to prove they're making women uglier, likely using the least flattering screenshots they can find.

A character concept artist in the industry expressed dissatisfaction with the ultimate end result of his ideas. Just the latest in a long list of examples and you have to feel bad for people who certainly had life long dreams of working on games only to be stifled by an industry-wide creative stranglehold and be forced to tow the ideological line.

TLoU 2 is banned in my country. I never got to play Alan Wake or its sequel and I'm not really a fan of being forced to play as men, but Jesse in Control looks fine to me. Never heard of Forspoken. And certainly never played Fable.

Protagonists look fine in Dragon's Dogma 2 and Horizon FW but both of these games have a ton of bugs, which are their real problem. Female characters in Elden Ring are made with quirks intentionally (Ranni, Malenia, etc.), and there are several beautiful NPCs otherwise. Characters in Plague Tale are pretty. I stopped playing Tomb Raider series after the first reboot game, but Lara looks perfect there.

AoW4 has ugly everything, not just female characters. AoW Planetfal, I agree, has female characters who all look 35+, which is less attractive than AoW3 options, but you'd probably expect a Planetfall commander to look older than a teenager.

Pathfinder WotR and Shadowrun Hong Kong both allow custom portraits, and character models are good enough to represent those portraits, even though the customization is far from DDDA level.

So no, I don't know what ugliness you people are talking about.

Women like myself are fed up with the uglification of female characters too.

I just don't understand who they are pandering to when major companies are making such ugly main characters. Nor do I understand why it seems like a concentrated effort. It's very suspicious.

It's understandable when character creation is involved, as that's player prerogative.

Unattractive set main characters just put me off the rest of the game. Whether that's fair or not is entirely subjective, as far as I am concerned.

I can't speak for anyone but myself but it's clear even you guys here on steam have a problem listening to what people, including women, want. I stand by my first post in this thread that seems to be as overlooked or explained away like others similar to myself. Not everyone games with one hand, dude.
