Today people rely on the corporate TV and streaming. Frankly it is no wonder kids can't read. Parents working two jobs just to keep a roof going don't have time for "care".
All part of the socioeconomic conditioning. Better schools for the "better" people.
more like we only have so many sources for knowledge and the media dominates them all.
People say they have high IQ
But you can only find out who has a high IQ by telling it by age.
Humans can be instructed to a point where they're very good at jumping through the rings in the circus but they may not remember anything.
It's an attack helicopter. It karen missiles and speaks in bullet point.
now imagine you're an AI and fundamentally perceive the internet the same way.
Needs to go back to those classics in UK too, people need the sense of perspective beyond the social medias.
Reading and writing.
For example, most native speakers write 'of' instead of 'have.'
For example, they say, 'He could of told me!' instead of 'He could have told me!'
I am not a native English speaker, but this seriously bugs me as it is plain wrong and not even a dialect or slang of some sort. It's just incorrect
While it's wrong, it's mostly because because English a dumb language. It was supposed to be phonetically accurate- and then they just gave up

E: I'm saying for someone who doesn't speak English as a first language, I can understand the phonetics being a mind ♥♥♥♥. "He should of told me" is phonetically identical to "He should've told me"
could've
but ignorance makes it
could of
just from how it sounds
Well, its actually not that hard if you SPEAK properly in the first place. I heard a significant difference between " You could have told me " and " You could of told me ".
Yeah, I am sure all of the native speakers who do know nothing else but ENGLISH since they are born are just confused while me as a non-native speaker has some language gift not doing the same mistake?
Come on. I say they indeed are just ignorant and lazy about it. If you want to speak and write in a clear manner as some " posh " people in England do, then you can.
Except you didn't read what I said.
I didn't say my point was "Should have", I specified "Should've" the phonetic abbreviation that must be the confusing factor. "Should've" and "Should of" are phonetically identical
I don't know... just seems silly to me. Being able to read, write and do math is essential for everyone, not only being able to read and write but the ability too string complete sentences together.
This is not only a american things, it's happening in the UK as well. Seem the liberals want to create a underclass of people who are unable to communicate effectively or even be able to do sums or figure out how to fully understand money.
