Do you have some sort of mental block stopping you from thinking about anything other than extremes? This isn't complicated, yet you try to make it that way.

That'd be because they can.
For as long as they do have that option, they're gonna use it and that's nothing surprising or to be looked down upon.

What needs to change for that are mutual interests of treating each other equally; If one has a problem with that or finds it unfair.. That's onto them and them alone for expecting the luxury.
If that option exists, it's gonna be put into the play.
But.. You're not gonna convince other people because they might want to treat their partners in special way.. Afterall, it does make them happy to see them happy, doesn't it?

a moment ago, I told manager of the restaurant, that I am quitting the waiter job, he replied that if I sign up the paper for quitting job tomorrow, I can be leaving until the same date next month.
my behavior must have some impact on labour market when I applied for the waiter job. new applicant is difficult to find. well, my readers know, me being a convict fresh out of jail, suddenly work as waiter.

as to the question regarding towards woman and man relationship, maybe its because words have been most defective amongst most relationship, woman and man tend to look for the ones that they can most easily communicate with.
as to the kings and queens, call it what you like. overrated.
