I tend to agree. Although it is somewhat relative and dependent on the situation. I meet quite a lot of people online who seem to "talk intelligently", while still making no sense. I call these people intellectuals. It's like they are invested in trying to appear intelligent to others, using expensive words and explaining things in unnecessarily complicated ways.

I think generalizing who likes what and basing their intelligence on the complexity of the source material is kind of weird, so there's that opinion.
