I dont know... i meet alot of gamer chicks through dating sites, i play with a bunch of E girls every friday 2 of them met on dating site. You just have to be indirect about being a gamer, you love the digital arts and digital story telling, when its safe - gaming lol. I don't think Steam is a place where people should be looking for love personally. Dating websites/apps are already available and aren't that great in the first place, the last thing I want to see on Steam is people trying to find a partner.

I not want a wife that games.. I want a wife that buggers me to game less and spend more time more productive.

also.. I want a christian wife.. and a strict reformed christian wife.. not going to likely find that here.

but ok even for the average user.. this idea is INSANE.

1 dating sites by law must have a minimum age of members of 18.. steams minimumage is below that.. so.. that is an issue
2 all female gamers are man.. (ok ok MOST female gamers are man.. but the meme does excist for a reason.. thus such a dating site would serve to purpose but be only a hellhole full of trolls and cringe)
3 dating sites must lead to dates.. that would mean divoluging personal information... to you want to give away that much privacy to steam?

4 dating sites by law must registrate users.. and can be held accountable for what users post and do... like not allow sex offenders on the page..log files in case of rape/abuse cases to assist with police inquireries.. block terrorists organising through their page... this is MUCH stricter than just for a forum like this... it would mean steam would have to spend a fortune on extra moderation (it is also why dating sites are PAID per month.. this kind of screening of users and their posts both INSIDE and OUTSIDE the dating site takes labour and thus money)
5 inpractical distance.. steam users are from over the entire globe.. VERY few people will ever marry outside of their own town, let alone state or nation...
6 languages -> people will want to communitcate ion their own languages on such a part of the forum.. not english..thats why datingsites usually have a preset nationality for users.. so now BOOM you need even more moderators to manage all these different languages..

it's possible, the probability of it isn't all that low seeing as how little we interact in actual experience with people these days, most interactions are less friendly and more about meet ups for.. sexual. reasons, but it's not impossible for such thing's to bloom from online interactions.

do i condone it? frankly i don't really care for it, if it happens then it happens, it's still a real person on the other side, just be sure the person is who you're told and shown to believe they are.
