No ads since I started using adblockers more then a decade ago. Not even today. I'm watching a huge playlist with 15 videos à 5 hours. Not. A. Single. Ad. Not even sponsor, because of Sponsor-block.

I don't use sponsor block. Content creators deserve credit for a deft or clever segue.

Or knowing how to spell segue.

I use uBlock on Opera and it catches ads 99.5% of the time. Only time it fails is Youtube's anti-adblock getting updated, but that lasts for an hour at best.

Thank you youtube, google, alphabet for the ad that pays that artist the money.... I lower my bandwidth, I mute the ad.... I walk away and don't even watch it, but it's good to know I can come back and listen to something I really like.

Even if there was competion there would still be ads becuase money does not grow on trees and ppl do not want to pay to use a social media website...

Like nobody makes business to lose money...

I didn't say that you shouldn't have ads but it's good to be able to skip them or when they are short, but yeah from a profitable business point this is not ideal

It's getting bad. My ad blockers only work sometimes. And when they don't? There's often two unskippable ads.

I've been spending WAY less time on YouTube. Why watch annoying ads when I can load up a paid streaming service? YouTube Premium? Why would I pay $15/month to watch amateurs when I can get professionals for the same price from a different service?!

Want people to watch ads? Get rid of the 5 minute religious ads. Me & my friends are listening to music. Then a long ad comes on about Jesus. We're trying to party. This isn't even related to what we're listening to. Bummer.

Might as well turn on a radio. At the very least, the ads will be local. And maybe even relevant.

YouTube will never be profitable. Look at the number of patreons people have vs. number of views. It's been decades. Face it Google: people ain't payn' for this.

YouTube and music? It's truly baffling how some individuals genuinely rely on YouTube in 2024 for their musical fix, perhaps even exclusively for their entertainment needs. That's ... something.

not for long. google started phasing out mv2, which means that ubo will get neutered. I give it a couple months

dont use a browser made by chrome. google (owns youtube, owns chrome) is changing all of those chrome frameworks to force you to view ads now, and block your adblocker.

any non-chrome browser is your key. i think theres uh...2? lol.
