And if you mean the random people who add you as a friend to send you a message with a link to a BS scam website, I haven't seen people like that in years because they can't find me by username search.

People are too naive to open links from users they don't know, actually they shouldn't open any links from steam unless they know the site because your friends can be already hacked.

But please explain your logic. If you feel the need to hide everything, how are you not insecure? You hide it because you are insecure about other people seeing it. If you are secure, you don't care who sees it or what they think about it.

No, Private profiles has been around over 20 years. There's no reason to change it. The problem with some users here that they want to stalk, harass, spam, troll other users. Putting profile on private is the best way to go.

If the user dont like private profiles, that's their problem not the user itself.

a majority of users don't even use the forums, most only play with family or friends
