Fallout series isn't it.
Made it about 30 minutes into the first episode and I couldn't take it. The quirkiness of the characters and settings in modern media is something I've never been a fan of and I think regardless of how articulated the lore is -if the acting and production feel like a single step above a high school play, I'm not interested.

Those first 30 minutes felt like a chick flick, especially the creepy dude locking our main character in for a sex scene right off the bat. The whole thing just feels TOO EXTRA.

I have zero bias, as much as I like Fallout and enjoy playing the games, this adaptation is far too fruity and Hollywood friendly for my taste. Better than others? Sure. Just proves the point that most movie adaptations are never going to match their source material.

It's Fallout without the mods. Add some mods and the show would be great.

But than the series would break all the time when they are updating it.
Which will give it the authentic Fallout experience.
Just wait till OP learns what Vault 68 and 69 are, along with Vault 77

Yeah, I'm still trying to figure out why the remnants of the NCR hired wasteland raiders in their scheme to break into Vault 33 so they could then infiltrate Vault 32 when Moldaver already knew what was in Vault 32 (and could get in with Rose's Pip-boy) but didn't necessarily know Vault 33 was empty. You'd think they'd just go straight into Vault 32 with guns blazing (like they eventually did anyway) without having to rely on raiders to keep to a script for an event that doesn't seem to happen on a regular schedule anyway.

The NCR outsources a ton, by Fallout NV and the FO Bible Lore, they could easily just bring in the entire NCR armor division and demolish any foe that gets in their way. As a matter of fact by that lore, NCR is so large that in New Vegas, the force that clashed wtih Casaers entire legion was only 5% of the total military of the NCR. Yes, the Legion as a whole has the same number of soldiers as only 5% of the NCR

Their numbers are so large that they kicked out most of the Enclave, including completely taking over the Oil Rig from Fallout 2 with marine forces and destroyed all Brotherhood of Steel command bunkers.

However, they still will outsource a ton as they track those people to find new routes, find new soldiers, plan new locations to expand to and so on, for a great example is by lore the NCR tolerates the Raiders in New Vegas's area despite having the firepower to kill them all because by lore those Raiders are very skilled wildlife tamers, so skilled as a matter of fact that its side the origin of the fiends was caused when the first queen tamed two freaking Deathclaws, an Alpha and his mate.

Except the TV show takes place 15 years after New Vegas and the NCR/Shady Sands has been nuked by Vault-Tec executives.

I mean if thats the case then thats a big change.

Because by lore of the games anyways- Vault Tec's entire leadership was kidnapped by the Zetans save, save the leader who ironically is the United States president who ran away and hid on an oil platform somewhere 100 miles off of California's coast

Yeah, the show takes some pretty big liberties with the lore. Like ghouls have to take this mystery drug or they'll turn feral. Doesn't fit the lore, but they needed a hook and a motivation to keep Coop from being an unstoppable killing machine.

They did a pretty good job on the Vault Water Chip prop I thought though.

Nah. It needs bugs. It's not Fallout without a program-breaking glitch or two. I would love to see the protagonist t-posing, and have no character mention it. Or have an actor ragdoll uncontrollably for ten seconds in a death scene.

If they slipped in the song "Sweet Little Lies" it would really be the ultimate Bethesda fan service.

You're better off bouncing out. I liked a good amount of it, but the last episode is horrible.

LOLLOLOLOLOL Good one! :)
The show didn't click for me either. I watched 4 episodes and it felt like I could be doing something more interesting the entire time.

how do you feel it compared to other waste of time shows?

did the franchise have a positive impact on the numbers for an iconoclast genre that very few people actually like, the 'complete waste of time filler show?'

I try not to watch "waste of time" or "iconoclast" shows. You'd have to pay me to watch any new Star Wars or Star Trek release. I just gave up after a couple seasons of STD etc.

It's been over a decade since I played Fallout New Vegas (and never got into Fallout 4), so I can't really judge if it's offensive to a Fallout fan, but I found it simultaneously satirical and unfunny, which isn't a great combination. It certainly wasn't as bad as STD or Boba Fett to me.

I don't know anything about show numbers, but was I under the impression Fallout was pretty well received.
