They really are just a status/power accessory at this point. They are definitely fashionable and look good but modern fashion trends are absolutely garbage.
Personally I love ties even though I don't need to wear them.
(With exception to membership organisations and events)
for the rest of us living the double windsor life, may you not crush the seams of your silk ties. was tying one of my best, and most festive ties, a little too tight. it's never been the same. =(

Always wore clip-ons, nobody is going to strangle me with my own tie or pull me as a joke.
Of course I wore suits only for the pretense I am one of them.
