Ewwww ... why do people like Walmart?
I haven't been to Walmart in over two years, as I never liked the place. My local Walmart had one item in stock that I needed right away. Went to the store at 6am (just as they opened).

To my dismay, the item I needed was locked up. I asked the only employee in the area to open the locked cabinet. He said he didn't have the key. Then I told him to find someone who did have the key. He started with all the excuses like he didn't know where they key was. I told him to find someone with the key and stop making excuses. After some arguing, he finally found a person who had the key to the locked cabinet. It's not like I was asking them to fly a space shuttle.

Rude employees. Dirty floors. Questionable customers. Many items locked up (depending on your area). Why would anyone enjoy shopping at such a horrid place?

Nobody actually enjoys shopping at Walmart. A lot of Americans don't have a choice though.

a lot of nationally distributed oddball flavors on soda and nergy drinks, such as variations on monster coffee, can't get distribution anywhere but walmart anymore. other retailers are either too small or demand too much of a premium for the shelf space.

generally nobody likes walmart though.

Hard to shop at other places when Wal-Mart squeeze out all of the little businesses then once all of those businesses close down they jack the prices back up.

I actually like Costco tho. I get to buy a gallons of soda in bulk and the food court is bussing.

What about them?

People shop at Walmart because it's cheaper. They aren't paying for a Costco membership.

People love cheap crap.

And Walmart is a brick and mortar version of Temu.

always out in the middle of nowhere; like 5% discount on bulk, assuming it even offers one anymore.

$28 for a case of energy drinks in 2009. most of them are $12-24 today.

food court isn't worth the effort and they know it. that's why it's the only affordable thing they have anymore.

Each to their own but Costco pays for itself in the long run. I get frozen food in bulk, a huuuuuuige sack of cereal (you know, the ones that are as big as a dog food sack), snacks, meats, and veggies.
You can always place a pickup order. I bet they'll unlock the item if you've already paid for it.

basically any discount retail store is going to have comparable goods for cheaper in slightly less nice packaging.
