I mean I loved the post-POKYCLYPSE stuff - and at the age I was when Thunderdome came out it had me hooked. And what a cast!
The whole pscho kid gets a second chance then his newbuilt life is torn away so he loses all humanity for revenge, followed by loner with dog survives oil wars and societal breakdown, followed by psycho wastelander finds his humanity again - great story arc
But each film has been quite different from each other.
I really didn't enjoy Fury Road - as corny as parts of the original movie are, Fury Road was distractingly odd. And the plotline didn't grab me. The grossout baby scenes were too distracting too. The idiot with the guitar....
The game was ace!
But yep how can you have a Mad Max film and not even feature him at all? Other posters have hit the nail on the head of why it flopped
How can you have Star Wars movie that is not about a star war.
This line of reasoning doesn't make sense.
According to people like you, movies like Venom or Joker have no reason to exist or be successful, because they are not about Spiderman or Batman. Again, this makes no sense.
The movie is called "Furiosa". It takes place in the same universe as "Fury Road" And the movie does include Mad Max. Anybody who is claiming that the movie does not include Mad Max have not seen the movie or have been sleeping through it. (Or did not understand one specific scene).
No mate THAT makes no sense
If it was a film called Joker and had no Joker then I'd feel the same about that too.
And your Star Wars crack is an odd one as well
EDIT - and guess what, this is just my opinion. Like I said, Each film has been quite different from each other, and there are people who like and dislike various entries into the franchise
I'm not going to repeat that error because I'm pretty sure that ex-girlfriend helped program the AI moderator here.
Objectively speaking, I don't think she has the same pull as Mad Max to Mad Max fans, though. So Mad Max fans would probably be like "no Mad Max in my Mad Max movie? Why would I want to watch that?"
What was the joke? Common, you can tell us.... what's the worst that can happen? The FBI breaking your door and arresting you for bad jokes?

There was a TV commercial at the time where this young woman was borrowing her father's car to go out for the night. As she leaves the house with the keys, the father silently watches her go. The narrator comes on and says, "If you don't teach her about drinking and driving, who will?"
My reply was, "The father can certainly teacher to drink, but..."
One spectrum you have movies going on streaming apps faster than ever, paying the same price to OWN the movie than to see it once.
Plus, movies are getting lazier and lazier these days giving the stigma that movies are becoming not worthwhile.
I totally do not regret seeing some movies in the threatre, Oppenheimer and Dune Part 2 were majestic works of art that I had the pleasure of seeing in IMAX. I will also being see Furisoa in IMAX too soon, but that's the idea of it so far.
No telling who the AI moderator will go off on next either.
RIP movies.
I miss those mice.
But the film is not called "Mad Max". It is called "Furiosa". That it has a subtilte like "A Mad Max Saga" is probably the same studio meddling that gave us "The Glass Onion - A Knives Out Mystery" or "Solo - A Star Wars Story". Not the directors fault.
No, he is genuinely intimitading. He is clearly insane. I mean, his characters name is "Dementus". He is funny at times, due to Hemsworhts charisma but this comes more out from his pure insanity. He is not silly. He makes Immortan Joe look reasonable and tolerable.
I think Hemsworth was great.
