i would become a god.
Otherwise I'd be looking to become Fist of the North Star, find a dojo train a lot and walk around with testosterone for blood.

I would definitely not want to be in one where everyone dies or suffers. Like Higurashi:

I'll speedrun this anime world at level 1 and then enjoy the harem ending.
Granted, this is surely isekai anime, but that doesn't help very much since what makes a show isekai is basically just the backstory.
The best first step is to scope out your circumstances by figuring out the story's actual genre (Mecha, Steampunk, High Fantasy, Slice of Life, Rom. Com., Spaghetti Western et cetera) and proceed from there. Without knowing that, using my genre savvy to make any long term planning is kind of pointless.
There are a few things to consider though, just on the basis that it is an isekai scenario.
The first is whether to try to return to the old world or not. As things stand right now, I don't think any of my present relationships are worth trying to return. There are surely people I would miss, but the thing is that they are mostly in the twilight years of their life or people I only know online. Depending on the duration of the story I might not make it back in time to ever meet them again, and even if I did, the reunion likely would not last long enough to be worth sacrificing any new bonds I would likely make along the way, particularly should I find myself in a position of power.
More importantly, if I recall correctly, Isekai protagonists who try to return to their world often end up endangering it, so it is really in everybody's best interest if the rift between worlds stays closed, unless an existential threat to either world is discovered beforehand.
Granted, I am aware that such a line of thinking likely means I would be less likely to be the protagonist and more likely to be the protagonist's former acquaintance turned rival, so I would have to be weary not to forge the wrong bonds in the new world to avoid an unsavory turn of events.
The second is if you should accept any new powers proffered. It's a coin toss as to whether or not anybody offering you immediate power is one of the story's villains or not, and even if they are on the side of good, acceptance of powers often comes with complications.
It is granted flat out rejection can be problematic too, but usually fate conspires in such a way that refusing a call to duty is futile and with fate, things tend to work out, even if it is only in the nick of time, so I would likely reject such offers until my back is up against the wall. That seems particularly prudent since those who take the quick and easy route to power often find themselves in league with the villains, which can be the source of one's own demise.
The only route to quick and easy route to power is to get trampled by the person who is running late to school with toast stuck in her mouth and become their supporting character.
However, being too genre savvy can also be problematic if you find yourself in a deconstruction story, so perhaps it is for the best if you do not purposefully walk directly into his or her path. If it happens by accident though, so be it and try not to be too mad since it was likely fate.
First, that's more V.N. land than anime land, although I suppose some anime does is derived from or parodies V.Ns. Second, that is probably a bad idea: Harem route is always the hardest, and if you haven't done all of the monogamy routes first you are liable to just get a bad end in the pursuit of harem end. If you are comfortable with taking high risk in exchange for the potential of high reward, that is your prerogative though.
Otherwise, it would only be worth trying if you knew you could reset the timeline in the event that anything goes awry. Even in the event that time travel is technically possible in the setting, you have to be weary of stable time loops, because fate is inalterable in such settings and you often cause the very problem you sought to prevent.
Anime characters have noses?! :-P
