strange things used in songs

Blade - Vampire Dance Club Theme is a great track but it has a singer but his lyrics sounds like his mic is busted, sounding very electrical, is this a mistake or done on purpose? would it sound better with a clear singer or would that ruin it?

This Machine by Julien-K (Team Dark's Theme) also does something similar thing with "the "chaos control" lyrics are god awful and a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ voice"
