Cuz it's like half a cat and half a doggo.

Foxes are nothing like cats (Though last I heard, they were still debating whether the Corsican Catfox should be considered a separate species)

If you really want weird taxonomy, Hyenas are pretty interesting. They're like half canid, half feline, half mustelid.

Furry artists drawing Harley as a hyena-sona always seem to emphasize the canid part, even though they're not even close.
