Why do Unitedstatians call their sport football if they use their hands?
I mean, the "ball" doesnt even looks like a ball, it looks like an egg. Why not call it Handegg?

You don't get to name people. We're Americans. America is in the country's name. United States of America. It's not Mexico of America or Canada of America or Brazil of America. That's why they aren't called Americans.

And American Football is called that because it didn't start off with the ability to pass forward the ball by throwing it. When it originated, it was much more similar to football games from Europe.
Die hard NFL fan, but yeah, it's stupid to call it football.

Canada's citizens are Canadians.
Argentina citizens are Argentine in English or Argentinos/Argentinas in Spanish.

It's not The Canada of America. It's also not the the Argentina of America. It is the United States of America.

In the UK we call it Hand Egg.
What a creative, unique, never been brought up before topic. Hope you weren't up all night putting it together.

But to not answer your question with another question: Why do non-usaians call it football when the players spend most of their time on their butts, crying and pretending they are hurt? They should be calling it flopper.

How does it feel to know there are 5yr old girl leagues that play flopper? I guess kicking a ball in one direction and running takes less skill than everyone thought.
Because Americans are lazy and don´t call it "American football", as that is their interpretation what it should look like. Nobody can judge it. It´s just a name. It has no feelings. No intentions. Can´t blame the name for it. Language - just a tool to describe things. And some cultural influences...

Which happens to be in North America. Those other countries are also in North or South America. All Americans.

It's not 'American football' it's just football period.
If yall can call it 'American football' then I can also call soccer 'the international sport of the antichrist'.

I just did call it American Football. And it's because I'm speaking with people that use the word football for something else. When we discuss it here in the United States, it's just Football because our word is Soccer. It's not laziness.

If anyone is being lazy in this scenario it's people being obtuse about the topic.

The term for people's citizenship isn't based on continent. It's based on country.
