Creepypastas I never was interested in other than Slenderman. Backrooms seemed pretty neat before it started having all of its floors and monsters.
monsters are a 50/50
though one big flaw was that they added furniture and stuff to some rooms like the grocery store or the hotels. Which is like the point of backrooms is it's supposed to be missing stuff only being super bare bones.
I'm not deeply familiar with its lore, but SCP is a pretty brilliant sort of free-form world-building. Fictional World Building used to be "a thing" with creative types. There were quite a few "worlds" built by committee online at one time. I'm sure a few are left, but SCP is a new kind of animal where people can do this in an entertaining framework and flesh out all sorts of imaginary experiences in their brains... Pretty cool.
The "Backrooms" fad is a fad, IMO. It's just liminal space embellishment, much like a "Ghost Hunter" episode. All looks, little substance.
SCP is written by nerds.
Creepypasta is boomer stories.
